Grand Canyon University Reviews
I am transferring into GCU and the process of transferring with them was made super easy and almost effortless. The advisors did a great job of welcoming and communicating steps to transfer. GCU is well known for its community and I 100% agree. There are many activities to be involved with and create new friendships while studying your major. I love how students have access to events going on on the school grounds. The Professors are caring and truly want students to succeed. Grand Canyon wants its students to not only grow as individuals but succeed at academics as well. College is a huge investment and GCU makes it worth it. Not only are academics succeeding but the personal growth and networking that happens at GCU long surpass just four years of college. They make college a fun and safe environment for young adults and has many opportunities for students to get involved. The facilities are super nice and the dorms are clean and new.

Overall, my experience at Grand Canyon University has been outstanding. The first time I set foot on the beautiful campus, I knew I wanted to call that my home for the next 4 years. It is a warm and welcoming campus with great hospitality and community. There are always a multitude of events put on by student leaders themselves that invite all students in to build community and fellowship with one another. Grand Canyon University is a private, Christian campus, however there is no pressure to define as a believer, everyone is welcome and that is felt anywhere on campus. I have had the privilege of getting connected and serving as a Resident Assistant for two years in the freshman housing. Grand Canyon University strives to welcome, encourage and walk alongside students not just academically, but spiritually, emotionally and physically as well. It is a great place to build life-long friends, get an amazing education and grow closer with others and the Lord.

It has great connections but runs a bit pricey compared to other universities. I love the Christian involvement but, I wish they didn’t require you to take additional Christian courses as I see it as a waste of my grant. I also think that they need to do actual lessons on video and professors need to be more interactive as their responses seem a bit computerized or automatic.

Grand Canyon University has an unparalleled sense of community that unifies everyone from faculty to students and even our families. Our student body is committed to lifting each other up and celebrating diversity. Thus, the campus culture rooted in humility and empathy creates a safe learning environment. I have always felt that my professors are genuinely invested in my success, both academically and personally. Above all, GCU’s mission to mold each and every student into a boldly compassionate servant leader is evident throughout the campus.

The Music Department at GCU had been absolutely wonderful to me. I have been very enriched in both my musical knowledge and musical skills. As well, faculty is very welcoming and helpful; they are sure to help you with whatever you may need. They have truly built a program meant to prepare top-of-the-line workers for the fields of Music Education and Music Performance.

Grand Canyon University is such a great place to get your education. Going into college I was really afraid, but the faculty and the student s at GCU made it a really easy transition. The campus is beautiful as well, and the labs are pretty cool. The food on campus could be a little better though.

Could this be the best university in the universe? I wonder. The reviews seem so positive! How could they be wrong?

Severely poorly run the school. The student service counseling section of the school is terrible. Time and time again, I have found “errors” in my billing at GCU. So far, they have cost me over two thousand dollars extra because of their mistakes. When the issue was brought up, the student services counselor screamed at me on the phone, saying it’s not her fault, and hung up on me. It was never corrected by the school. Most recently found an error for seven hundred dollars that would have been lost had I not caught the error in a timely manner this time around. It seems the counselors only job is the get the student off the phone and not answer any of their questions. People who have overhead my phone calls with them are all shocked at how poor they are. I can’t help but think there are students who don’t pay close attention to their billing that are being taken advantage of at GCU. I advise you not to attend this school and if you do, pay very close attention to your billing.

This has been a great experience because I have been able to learn online. The professors are so incredibly knowledgable and friendly so it was easy to communicate with them when I had questions or needed clarification. My counselor is always so helpful when I reach out to her. The times I’ve talked to other office staff to get my questions answered, they have been so helpful in my experience with this college.

I love GCU. I am apart of the honors college and am pursuing a nursing degree. There are many great resources provided for students. This could be academic help or career help. The people there are also really friendly and will almost always help you. My best suggestion gets out of your room because there is a lot that GCU has to offer. Also we have Taco Bell… Enough said.

The campus is great, and the Professors, for the most part, are also great. The area in which the school is located is a bit sketchy, but the campus feels safe. The way things are graded, there is no rounding or extra credit.

Grand Canyon University is a school with an incredible sense of community. This school is a place where every student is focused on building and strengthening personal relationships with their peers in order to build their success and help maintain the success of others around them. This does not just apply to the students either, this overwhelming sense of community extends to the staff and faculty as well. I have personally met many professors that do all that they can to not only provide success in the courses that they are teaching but they also offer real-world experiences and expertise beyond that in order to help the students in their future career. When professors provide resources to ensure the success of their students in their career it opens a door and I will be forever grateful l for that. And I will admit, the number of students that attend GCU can be overwhelming and sometimes chaotic but they’re good people that you will certainly not ever regret meeting.

Our daughter just graduated from the nursing program and had a phenomenal experience. First-class all the way around. It’s great to see a Christian school have the best dorms, food, athletic facilities, and campus in the state. Better yet was the great nursing program and spiritual environment. I highly recommend the school as a parent!

It is a private university that wants to see students succeed. I am working on my third degree from this university. I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program online. I have visited the campus only on two occasions. The campus is clean, however, it is located in a part of Phoenix that isn’t the best.

I am an online student & was looking for a school that completed their learning/coursework solely online. I expressed these expectations with my initial counselor & was told their program matched my expectations. I was also told there were only 2 Christian courses & that was the extent of Christianity in my program. I was lied to concerning both topics. My classes required volunteering, researching/interviewing outside the virtual classroom, & every course had some type of Christian spin. I started my 400 level courses & decided to change schools. I only had a few instructors that actually provided quality/timely feedback on assignments & posts. My last class should have been a weekend seminar, not an 8 week class. When comparing this school to a coworker’s, I am paying more, doing twice the work, & learning less.
